Photography Theme
This might be a silly one, but stay with me here. My wife was born in China, my three boys (all under 6) were all born here in Aus. We all speak English at home, but my wife will speak Mandarin to them as much as possible so they can learn what they need to be able to talk with her family back in China. As a result, they can all understand it fluently... but you'd have more luck extracting blood from a stone than to get them to speak it! I'm trying to learn to join in, but the boys are not a fan of the process. My oldest has started learning mandarin more formally with a language learning program we paid for. He is in prep this year, so every afternoon, he comes home and does a bit of the course. He is not a fan... not one bit. It is an operation of pulling teeth. That was until one day when my wife was out, and she left some lessons for me to do with him. We noticed it was a bit dark with the fluro tube in the room, and happened to notice that you could just see the nails under the paint, holding the ceiling on...
So out comes our house torch, the trusty W3 (not the American friendly W3S ;) and low and behold, it sticks perfectly to the ceiling! Suddenly, my boy is VERY keen to work, because he "likes the torch"! That's a win I'll take! Now if ever he needs motivation; "I'll get out the torch shall I?"
It's been used for everything from spotlighting the possums in the trees outside, chasing off an intruder on our property, assisting in repairing the pipes under the sink, right through to checking for bum worms (Thanks Bluey!) and it never lets us down. Everyone needs a good torch right! This one is ours!
