Pool rides after dark
My friends are some of the best pool riders in Western Australia. They usually find renovation building sites with pools and rock up wearing their hi vis and go in and drain the pools and skate or ride bmx Flat out till they get kicked out or find the next one to ride. They have found some absolute gems and cleaned up some manky pools for the last 10 years.
One of the local watering holes and live music venue the Indi Bar Scarborough had gotten wind of this. Their pool needed to be renovated and refreshed so they got a hold of the boys and offered them access for a one day event for twenty riders.
The day before the event my friend went around to drain it to get it ready for the next days comp. they got to ride it in the afternoon which meant a lot of local riders got to have a go as they wouldn’t be able to ride the next day due to limited spots. As you can imagine there was a massive rush to get at least one ride in each before the sun went down. As the afternoon went on more and more shredders rocked up with hopes of riding this once in a lifetime spot.
Sure enough the sun was going down and everyone was getting disappointed they couldn’t get their rides in before it was too dark. Some phone lights were pulled out and it was getting a bit sketchy as people were falling more due to not being able to see their lines and landings. The pub staff were about to shit it down when I remember I had my perun 2 and warrior min in the car (my marauder 2 was in the mail and arrived 3 days later haha) With thetorches lighting the way they crew was able to ride for the next hour or so till everyone was satisfied and got to have a go.
The photos never do these lights justice. We had an epic session that night and an amazing event the next day with a packed pub.
