O'Addict: An Olight Addiction Origin Story
My Olight Journey started back in 2019. My best buddy had mailed me a present for xmas 2018, which I never got to open on account of spending from boxing day until late Feb in hospital after a bad motorcycle accident. When I opened it, I found this tiny torch inside. Not thinking much of it (hmm rechargeable key chain light, can't be that great) I whacked it on my keyring. There it sat until, one night, my trusty AA Aldi torch was flat, and no batteries in sight. Grabbed the keys and thought "maybe it'll be just enough light to reflect on the doggos' eyes". Bam, it was brighter than my aldi torch! WTF?
OK so the Aldi torch is obviously crap. So I hit up my buddy for a recommendation for a replacement for the Aldi banger. He tells me he just bought this S30R Baton III, it'll do the job, and I can have it for the sale price. It's a bit exxy, but I trust his judgement (I mean, who pays $70 for a damn torch! Get outta here!). Anyway, once I'm allowed to drive again, we meet up in town, there is an exchange of cash, and I have a new shiny. Go home, charge her up ready for that night. Bedtime comes, doggos go out to do their business and I grab my new S30R. Wow, I am blown away! I can see the whole yard (1000+ sqm) and then some! At this point, I'm sold. Nothing but olight for me. I think I've only missed 1 or 2 sales since then. I don't *need* any more torches, but olight keep coming up with newer, better, prettier and cooler products, and I just can't stay away! At somewhere around $2.5k in, I think I'm definitely part of the O'Addicts Club!
