Torchanon?
I spent years in the Defence Forces and while stealth is regularly the preferred option, in a confrontation whether its in a battle or civilian situation the use of a good torch cannot be underestimated. After my share of cheap and sometimes nasty torches as well as large baton type halogen varieties, there is nothing like a super bright, small, easily carried torch.
I now own torches from Olight ranging from UV to IR to Laser, in sizes from the micros to the Marauder 2.
There are torches on every keyring in the house, each car has a compliment of Obulbs and one or two primary torches, each handbag or travel bag has a torch and like my camera bag two or more.
My wife tried to find a torch related organisation similar to alanon but after my insistence she carry a torch. She was sadly confronted by a person in the car park of the aged care facility where she worked after an evening shift and I firmly believe her timely use of the Seeker 2 she was carrying, hitting the attacker full in the face on turbo power was the only reason she is not now a victim or worse, a statistic. She has come to realise just how effective a good torch can be as a defensive tool. She has now stopped looking for Torchanon and happily carries and maintains her personal and car torches.
I have personally found that the psychological affect on people when there vision is impaired by a good bright light can be dramatic and usually tends to stop them in their tracks when they are robbed of their night vision or generally disoriented during daylight hours.
Olight torches are great to aid vision in the dark but are just as good at temporarily robbing a would be attacker of their visual acuity in times of desperate need.
My favourite Olight product would have to be my OLantern with the Flame Lamp installed for that relaxing candle like ambience when I'm trying to relax at the end of a long day.
Shooting, S&R, following a blood train, sneaking around the house in the wee hours, etc, Olight has every situation I could conceive of for a personal torch covered.
Torchanon no longer needed in my household and so the collection from Olight continues to grow.
