Batteries go in, light comes out.
I'm not a hard user of gear most of the time, so I usually pick things based on features and functionality over durability. When people expressed hesitation with durability, I rationalised that my use wouldn't creep into that area that meant this durability would matter. I'm not a fire-fighter and I'm not likely to go to war any time soon, so I needed a light that was easily configured an wouldn't break.
Accordingly my first Olight was a little black i3S that I got for my keychain. Then I bought some more i3S lights for people when I saw how great it was. One day there was an eBay seller who was basically getting rid of a bunch of stock, so I bought a whole range of Olights for pretty cheap, gifting a bunch of them. The M10 was just fantastic and I carried it everywhere (it's still one of the ebay things they ever made). I realised I really love the UI used on Olights, as it's a perfect mix of providing features without being overly complex. Then I realised the durability issues had been so heavily exaggerated, and my Olights were doing just as well as any other brand I had. Looking at my daily carry, it's all just organically switched to Olight over the last few years because they just perfectly fill each niche. From the i1R2 to the Seeker 2 Pro, I find myself choosing them each morning.
That being said, the customer service has just been perfect the whole time, so whenever little issues have come up over the years (e.g. killing a tailcap by using it in salt water) they've been resolved insanely fast. I don't hesitate to use them because I know even if something happens, customer service goes out of their way to fix it. It's important to me that things like lights get out of their own way - I want the light to illuminate the thing I'm doing so I can focus on doing it, rather than focusing on making the light useful.
I won't pretend to be a die-hard brand loyalist - if another brand managed the perfect integration of features, UI, durability, and incredible local customer service then I'd use other brands more too. But they don't - so far I think only Olight has just nailed that, so that's why Olight is what I usually have on me.
